UNC, Kentucky set tip-off time for CBS Sports Classic

We are still a few months away from the start of the 2026-27 college basketball season, but the schedule is starting to take shape for teams.

For North Carolina, the Tar Heels are set to enter the first year under Michael Malone. After a tough end to the season a year ago, there is optimism that they can get this back on track. But the program will be tested early and often for the upcoming season.

On Thursday, another piece to the schedule has come together as it was officially revealed that the Tar Heels will face off against Kentucky in the CBS Sports Classic. The two teams will meet on December 19th at Madison Square Garden with a tip-off time set at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Ohio State and Kansas will meet in the first game of the day, preceding the Tar Heels and Wildcats.

The Tar Heels are 8–4 all-time in the CBS Sports Classic, going 3-0 against the Buckeyes, 4-0 against the Bruins but just 1-4 against the Wildcats. North Carolina beat Ohio State back in 2024 at Madison Square Garden.
