Arizona men’s basketball signs Idaho State transfer center Evan Otten

Arizona men’s basketball has landed another big man out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Idaho State transfer Evan Otten, a 6-foot-11, 240 lb. center with two remaining years of eligibility, has signed with Arizona, the program announced Friday evening. Otten averaged 4.7 points and 3.8 rebounds as a redshirt sophomore and led the Big Sky with 1.8 blocks per game. He ranked 14th nationally in blocks.

Otten was named to the Big Sky All-Defensive Team.

The Redmond, Oregon native gives Arizona added depth down low. He joins a front court featuring Motiejus Krivas, Nebraska transfer Ugnius Jarusevicius, Dutch freshman Endurance Aiyamenkhue and redshirt freshman Mabil Mawut.

Jarusevicius is likely the day one backup behind Krivas, but Otten gives Arizona some insurance in case Jarusevicius’ lingering back injury issues flare up.

Otten is the seventh addition to the 2026-27. Arizona has an open spot remaining, which will go toward filling the power forward position. Arizona is awaiting Koa Peat’s whether to remain in the NBA Draft or return to college.
