UCLA WBB’s Transfer Portal Class Ranked No. 5 in Nation By ESPN

UCLA women’s basketball lost six players to the WNBA, all of whom contributed to all 79 points the Bruins scored in the national championship game on April 5. As the defending champions enter a rebuilding phase, five new transfer portal additions will help make up for those losses.

ESPN ranked UCLA’s transfer portal class at No. 5 in the nation. The Bruins did not lose any players to the portal but picked up four transfer guards and a forward this offseason.

Who Are UCLA’s Five Transfers?

UCLA added Arkansas guard Bonnie Deas, TCU guard Donoyn Hunter, North Carolina guard Elina Aarnisalo, Notre Dame guard KK Bransford and Iowa State forward Addy Brown from the portal this offseason.

Deas was the first player to commit to UCLA just four days after the Bruins won the national championship. She has three seasons of eligibility remaining and was one of the All-Star Five at the 2025 FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup.

A few days later, Aarnisalo and Hunter committed to UCLA.

Aarnisalo is returning to Westwood, where she played her freshman season with the Bruins before transferring to North Carolina for her sophomore campaign. Meanwhile, Hunter spent the last two seasons with TCU and led the Horned Frogs to an Elite Eight appearance against South Carolina last season.

The most recent transfer additions were Brown and Bransford. Both have one year of NCAA eligibility remaining.
