It’s been a few weeks, and Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman continued to wheel and deal, completing the majority of his roster for this upcoming basketball season.
After bringing in Andrew Meadow, Jasper Johnson, Tyrone Riley, and Pharoah Compton to complement blue chip recruit Tahj Ariza, Altman added some more beef to the frontcourt and filled the point guard position Oregon so desperately needed.

Taylor Bol Bowen, a 6-foot-10 forward from Alabama and Dwane Aristode, a 6-foot-8 forward from Arizona, round out Oregon’s suddenly loaded frontcourt.
Bol Bowen averaged 3 points, 4 rebounds, and a block in only 14 games played for the Tide. His overall field goal percentage of only 28 percent, however, is concerning.
Aristode averaged 4 points and 2 rebounds a game at Arizona while shooting an impressive 49 percent from the floor and 46percent from beyond the arc. His free throw percentage, oddly, is only 50 percent.
In the backcourt, the Ducks have their replacement for Jackson Shelstad in Fred Payne from Boston College. A 6-foot-2 point guard, Payne had very productive averages of 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists per contest for the Eagles while shooting 40 percent on his field goals.

Rounding out the guards is Jerry Easter from USC. The 6-foot-5 combo guard averaged 5 points and three rebounds a game for the Trojans, and though he shot only 25 percent from deep, he shot 48 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the free throw line.
With the roster just about full, Oregon is still missing a true 5 to fill the big hole left by the graduation of Nate Bittle. Although not as pressing as the point guard situation, a 7-footer is an important piece for rebounding and rim-protecting.
