North Carolina secured one of the nation’s most dynamic players in Neoklis Avdalas out of the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-9 Virginia Tech transfer is extremely versatile, as he can play on the wing and take over point guard duties when called upon. Because of his height, he can also play the four or five when needed.

Avdalas was the No. 3 shooting guard and the No. 20 overall player in 247Sports’ transfer portal rankings. He chose the Tar Heels after drawing interest from Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma State, St. John’s and Texas.

Avdalas averaged 12.1 points, 4.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 38.6% from the field and 31.4% from 3-point range for Virginia Tech last season.
