A historic deal has been reached to bring three Duke Blue Devils basketball games to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service during the upcoming season.

It’s being reported that Duke and Amazon struck a deal to bring three “marquee” games to Prime Video in 2026 and 2027. The deal includes “extensive NIL opportunities” for the athletes, and this is the first domino to fall in what’s described as a “broader retail partnership,” which will be unveiled “at a later date.”
This is a historic agreement on both sides. For Duke, the deal provides them a chance to have their games broadcast on a bigger platform than ever. Meanwhile, Prime Video has already forayed into live sports, broadcasting NFL and NBA games, including the ongoing playoffs for the latter. However, they may get “more aggressive” in acquiring the rights to move college athletics.
All three of the games that Prime Video will broadcast are neutral site games. Duke will play UConn, Michigan, and Gonzaga in Las Vegas, New York, and Detroit, respectively.
Duke’s athletic director, Nina King, is “excited” about the “groundbreaking” deal. King notes that “this collaboration not only expands the global reach of Duke’s Men’s Basketball, but also creates meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes in a way that reflects innovation and excellence.”

The deal creates even more NIL opportunities for Duke athletes. They will be able to promote the games, and ESPN’s report notes that this could “present other avenues” for collaboration.
