Wisconsin basketball signs international forward

Wisconsin basketball announced the signing of Australian forward Isaac Riddle on Thursday.

Riddle joins a growing list of incoming Badgers, which also includes transfers Trey Autry, Eian Elmer and Victory Onuetu, in-state freshmen LaTrevion Fenderson and Josh Manchester, and international prospects Owen Foxwell and Jackson Ball.

“Isaac comes in as one of the best young prospects in Australia with terrific potential as he goes down the path of development,” coach Greg Gard said in a release. “For our program, it’s a very good time to bring in a budding star from their national team and help Isaac with the next steps in his career. His length and athleticism are obvious, but his desire to grow and expand his game is impressive. We’re looking forward to getting to work with him in June.”

Riddle will join a forward rotation led by returning star Nolan Winter, Onuetu and rising junior Austin Rapp. The 6-foot-8 forward may need time to develop at the college level, but he should have ample opportunity to earn minutes as his career continues.
