Kentucky adds a Dayton guard to the list of transfer portal contacts

The Tyran Stokes watch continues for the Kentucky Wildcats and their fans, but in the meantime, coach Mark Pope continues to try and fill out the roster through the transfer portal. On Thursday, a new name was added to the list, per Kentucky Sports Radio, in former Dayton guard De’Shayne Montgomery.

Montgomery is a 6’4″, 195 lb guard originally out of Florida. He was an unranked recruit who committed to Mount St. Mary’s before transferring to the Georgia Bulldogs after his freshman season. He then moved on to Dayton for his junior season, and is looking for his fourth school in four years now.

At Georgia, Montgomery gained some SEC experience while averaging 6.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in about 15 minutes per game. Last season, he posted 13.4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per contest. He made 33% of his three-point attempts.

No visit is scheduled yet for Kentucky, but one could be forthcoming. He has visited Wildcats rival Louisville and has interest from Ole Miss and South Carolina. We will continue to update this story as it develops.
