Duke guard Caleb Foster returning for senior season

Duke received great news on Wednesday when guard Caleb Foster announced he is returning for his senior season with the Blue Devils.

The starting point guard this past season, Foster put up 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 44.7 percent from the floor and 39.8 percent from beyond the arc. He missed the ACC Tournament and first two games of the NCAA Tournament after fracturing his foot in the regular-season finale win against North Carolina, but played a huge role in helping Jon Scheyer’s team to an 80-75 victory over St. John’s in the Sweet 16, scoring 11 points with three rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes.

His return, along with Cayden Boozer and Sebastian Wilkins, transfer John Blackwell and incoming 5-star recruit Deron Rippey Jr., gives Scheyer a copious amount of talent at the guard position. Boozer filled in nicely for Foster in the starting lineup while he was out, while Blackwell arrives from Wisconsin, where he averaged 19.1 points per game last season for the Badgers.
