Terrence Hill Jr. going to Tennessee for immediate, significant impact

VCU transfer guard Terrence Hill Jr. committed to Tennessee basketball and head coach Rick Barnes on Sunday.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard appeared in 59 games, including two starts, from 2024-26 at VCU. He averaged 10.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

“Terrence comes from a great family and we are pleased to welcome them all to the Tennessee basketball program,” Barnes said. “He is a focused, mature and committed person who possesses clear leadership qualities. We are bringing Terrence here to make an immediate, significant impact and we feel great about his ability to do so.

“He is a dynamic player with speed, quickness, a strong basketball IQ and extreme confidence. Terrence can separate off the bounce and can put the ball in the basket from all three levels. He will mesh well with the way we run our offense.”

Hill Jr. joins Belmont guard Tyler Lundblade, California guard Dai Dai Ames, Loyola Chicago center Miles Rubin and Notre Dame guard Jalen Haralson who transferred to Tennessee after the 2025-26 season.
