Wisconsin men’s basketball adds experienced Miami (OH) wing

The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team has added its third transfer in a 48-hour span.

Head coach Greg Gard may have gotten off to a slow start, but fans took notice when he added Trey Autry and Victory Onuetu.

Now, the team announced Miami (OH) wing Eian Elmer is their latest transfer. The Badgers are adding a 6-foot-7 sharpshooter with tremendous defensive upside.

Elmer was part of the RedHawks’ historic 32-2 season, which saw them win their First Four game in the NCAA Tournament. The junior led the way with 23 points in their 89-79 victory over SMU.

The Kentucky native spent his first three seasons with Miami (OH) and will have just one year of eligibility remaining as he comes to Madison.

Elmer officially becomes the 12th player on Gard’s roster as he very well could have taken the final spot in this team’s starting rotation over Onuetu.

Last year was Elmer’s best as he averaged career highs in points (12.7) and rebounds (5.9) per game. He also shot a career best 42.9% from three-point range, and that comes with him attempting 168 shots, 23 more than his previous career high.
