Looking at the current UCLA Bruins 2026-2027 depth chart

It hasn’t been a program-shattering transfer portal season so far for the UCLA Bruins but Mick Cronin has now added four players, after news broke that Azavier Robinson was committing to UCLA on Saturday.

UCLA’s 2025-2026 group had a few flashes of greatness but there was plenty of frustration mixed in, as the Bruins finished the year 24-12 with another Round of 32 NCAA Tournament exit under Cronin. Last year the Bruins swung big in the portal, landing Donovan Dent out of New Mexico.

Dent’s adjustment to Power Four Conferences was interesting to watch. Dent’s old-school point guard abilities was fun to watch, but his offensive inconsistencies was tough for UCLA to overcome at times.

This time around, Cronin added a pair of Eastern European forwards and American guards, with his haul being Robinson, Jaylen Petty, Sergej Macura and Filip Jovic being UCLA’s transfers as of Saturday morning. It’s still to be seen if Skyy Clark can return to UCLA after entering the portal as he seeks an added year of collegiate eligibility.

There’s still additions yet to be made, but let’s take a look at how UCLA’s lineup is looking for the upcoming season.

Point Guard: Trent Perry/Azavier Robinson

Trent Perry had a solid sophomore season but UCLA will need more from the West Covina native next season. Perry 12.6 points per game with strong shooting splits but it’ll be interesting to see how he responds to being a focal point for opposing defenses.

Shooting Guard: Eric Freeny/Jaylen Petty

Eric Freeny became a bit of a fan favorite last year as a freshman but Freeny will be an important piece in the 2026-2027 season, as his rebounding ability in the backcourt will be much-needed with an otherwise small backcourt.

Small Forward: Eric Dailey Jr./Joe Philon III

UCLA’s guards may be undersized, but Eric Dailey Jr. and Joe Philon III both give Cronin a lot of size at the wing position. Barring any major transfer commitments, Dailey will take on a very large role…
