Georgetown basketball aims to become attractive again for past blue chip prospects. Now the Hoyas have added a past McDonald’s All-American after luring in Jaland Lowe from Kentucky. Ex-Kansas five-star Elmarko Jackson is heading to Washington D.C.

Jackson rises as the newest prized College Basketball Transfer Portal addition for Georgetown. College basketball insider for 247Sports Dushawn London confirmed the portal move Thursday afternoon.

Jackson adds to a growing list of departures out of Lawrence. Former center teammate Flory Bidunga landed at Louisville on Saturday. Fellow ex-teammate Bryson Tiller remains on the lookout for his next school, with Missouri and Miami the frontrunners as of Wednesday. Jayhawks star Darryn Peterson still hasn’t decided his 2026-27 fate, with many believing he’ll head to the NBA Draft.

Georgetown, though, lands an impact transfer capable of reigniting this proud program.

The guard Jackson became the top prospect from the state of Connecticut by 247Sports for the 2023 class. Jackson received an “elite” label through his prep scouting report, which also praised his speed and defensive acumen. The 6-foot-3 point guard created an aggressive downhill game at PG which opened up the offense at South Kent School in CT.

Head coach Ed Cooley certainly can hand him the keys to run his flex offense. His system plays at a slower pace, but spreads out defenders and emphasizes creating ball screens for their shooters.
