Where Wisconsin basketball ranks in early 2026-27 season projection

Wisconsin basketball sits at No. 26 in CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein’s early rankings for the 2026-27 season.

Rothstein’s latest ranking update follows a slew of transfer movement, including Wisconsin losing both John Blackwell and Aleksas Bieliauskas. The Badgers have yet to add any transfers to their roster, so their current ranking is a complete projection.

Without any additions, Wisconsin’s projected starting lineup includes guards Owen Foxwell, Jack Janicki and Hayden Jones, and forwards Austin Rapp and Nolan Winter. The team is likely to add at both positions, with its main roster need along the wing.

Greg Gard and his staff have their work cut out this offseason. The team, which has been one of the Big Ten’s best over the last six years, is still in search of its first Sweet Sixteen berth since 2017.
