Christopher Washington Jr. commits to Tennessee basketball

Tennessee has added to its 2026 basketball recruiting class.

Four-star forward Christopher Washington Jr. committed to Tennessee over Villanova, Ole Miss, Auburn and USC, according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-9, 195-pound prospect is an in-state target from Providence Christian Academy in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. 247Sports ranks Washington Jr. as the No. 19 small forward in the class and No. 1 player in Tennessee.

Alabama offered Washington Jr. a scholarship on June 20, 2024. He officially visited Alabama on Sept. 6, 2025 and committed to the Crimson Tide two days later. He decommitted from Alabama on Nov. 17, 2025.

Jacksonville was the first school to offer Washington Jr. a scholarship on June 3, 2022. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Bethune-Cookman, Florida State, West Virginia, Michigan, Illinois, Western Kentucky, USF, Clemson, Louisville, Sacramento State, California, Texas A&M, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Florida A&M, Oregon and SMU.

Tennessee has three other commitments in its 2026 basketball recruiting class: small forward Ralph Scott, power forward Manny Green and point guard Marquis Clark.
