Magoon Gwath commits to DePaul, despite planning to visit Kentucky

Well, so much for Magoon Gwath.

Despite drawing interest from the Kentucky Wildcats and planning a visit to Lexington sometime this week, Gwath has opted instead to commit to DePaul.

News broke on Tuesday that the San Diego State center was set to visit Kentucky, but with this development, one has to think the Wildcats’ offer wasn’t much if he’s ready to commit now.

That makes it two years in a row Kentucky missed out on Gwath in favor of a low major after he returned to San Diego State last season, despite being pursued by Mark Pope.

While Malachi Moreno is expected to return, the frontcourt is a ghost town after that. Syracuse transfer Donnie Freeman is on campus, but that’s a recruitment UConn is believed to be the favorite in.
