Oklahoma State men’s basketball adds Luka Bogavac in transfer portal

STILLWATER — The recruiting trail led Steve Lutz to Tobacco Road.

The Oklahoma State men’s basketball coach secured his first transfer portal commitment Monday with the addition of 6-foot-6 wing Luka Bogavac from North Carolina, according to multiple reports.

The 22-year-old Bogavac (pronounced BO-guh-VAHTS) has only played one year of college basketball, but was listed as a junior last season at UNC, where he averaged 9.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He shot 34.9% (52 of 149) from 3-point range.

Prior to that, he played two seasons with SC Derby Podgorica in his home country of Montenegro. The team is part of the AdmiralBet ABA League, which includes teams from many countries around Europe.

In his second season with SC Derby Podgorica, Bogavac averaged 14.9 points and shot 39.9% (61 of 153) from 3-point range in 29 games.

Bogavac is originally from Mojkovac, Montenegro, on the Balkan Peninsula in Southeast Europe.

His addition gives the Cowboys four newcomers for the 2026-27 season, joining high school signees Latrell Allmond, Parker Robinson and Jalen Montonati. As many as four players off of last year’s roster could return as well, with Kanye Clary, Benjamin Ahmed and Ryan Crotty having announced intentions to return.
