Former Kentucky Basketball commitment Acaden Lewis won’t be having an extended stay in the transfer portal, as the Villanova point guard has made his pledge to Jai Lucas and the Miami Hurricanes. Lewis made the announcement Tuesday on his Instagram page.
Lewis, who was at one point signed to play for Kentucky in the class of 2025, ultimately backed out of his pledge and landed at Villanova, where he had a standout freshman season in the Big East. He averaged 12.2 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds across 30 minutes per game. He shot 45.6% from the field but just 27% from 3-point range.

Even with the prior connection to Kentucky, there was never any report of the Wildcats showing interest in Lewis once he entered the portal. Miami was seen as the favorite right away once he entered the portal, as Lewis was recruited heavily by Lucas, who ironically is a former Kentucky assistant, and the rest is history.
Now, Lewis will look to carve out the remainder of his college basketball career in the ACC.
