Texas transfer forward Camden Heide schedules Auburn visit

Auburn basketball is set to receive a visit from Texas transfer forward Camden Heide. He would be a welcome addition to the team after forward Elyjah Freeman entered the transfer portal. 247Sports reported on Sunday that he would be visiting Auburn along with Grand Canyon. His visit to Auburn is scheduled for Saturday, April 18.

Heide played just one season for the Longhorns after playing his first two collegiate seasons with the Purdue Boilermakers. This past season for Texas, he averaged 5.9 points per game and shot 45.4% from three-point land. During his two seasons with Purdue, he averaged 3.9 points per game and shot 41% from long range. He showed great improvement during his one season with Texas.

His best game of the season actually came against Auburn in January. The Tigers won 88-82, but Heide showed what he was capable of. In the game, he scored 17 points and was 5-for-6 from three-point land.

Heide would give the Tigers a player who could stretch the floor and create more driving lanes for Tahaad Pettiford and the other guards. It would also pull away opposing teams’ forwards from the basket. Auburn currently has a solid core of players returning for next season with Pettiford, Kevin Overton, and Sebastian Williams-Adams.
