Iowa basketball interested in Tulsa transfer portal PG

As Iowa basketball continues to search for potential fits in the transfer portal, the Hawkeyes have shown interest in former Tulsa point guard Tylen Riley, who is coming off a season in which he earned second-team All-AAC honors. Sam Kayser of League Ready reported Iowa’s interest.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder from Las Vegas, Nev., will be entering his senior season during the 2026-27 campaign after averaging 15.0 points, 4.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game on 44.8% shooting, 38.9% from 3-point range, and 87.1 at the free-throw stripe in 38 contests for the Golden Hurricane last year.

Along with Iowa, there are plenty of other programs interested in the talented guard, such as Oklahoma, Auburn, Nebraska, Cincinnati, USC, Georgetown, Maryland, UCLA, Rutgers, Marquette, Utah, Ole Miss, Grand Canyon, and High Point.

Like many of the other transfer portal recruits the Hawkeyes have circled as potential additions, Iowa point toward its success with Bennett Stirtz in his one year with the program as a signature recruiting point.

If Iowa can secure Riley, he would emerge as the clear frontrunner to step in as Iowa’s starting point guard in the 2026-27 season.
