The Tennessee Volunteers men’s basketball are expected to be active in the transfer portal, with several potential additions on the horizon. A major reason for that is the increased NIL resources available, giving head coach Rick Barnes the most financial flexibility he has had during his tenure on Rocky Top.

“Tennessee basketball is on track to be among the elite in NIL spending next season. On3’s Pete Nakos on Thursday reported the Vols are one of a handful of teams set to spend $10 million or more in NIL for its roster next season,” VolQuest’s Grant Ramey wrote.
The Vols have already landed two key commitments from Dai Dai Ames and Miles Rubin. Their next target, Terrence Hill Jr., is expected to visit Rocky Top later this week after entering the portal from VCU Rams men’s basketball.
“VCU transfer guard Terrence Hill Jr. has set a visit with Tennessee, his agent tells William Patterson. The six-foot-three, 180 pound guard averaged 15 points a game on 46.6% shooting from the field this season. Hill’s agent added that a specific date has not been confirmed, but the two sides are working towards locking one in. The Portland, Oregon native scored 34 points in the Rams’ upset win over North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament,” Fox Sports Knoxville posted.
That is encouraging news for Tennessee. However, it appears a Big 12 program will get the first opportunity to host Hill Jr., as Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball are set to welcome him for a visit Monday.

“VCU transfer Terrence Hill Jr. will visit both Kansas and Tennessee this week, source tells 247Sports. Hill will visit Kansas on Monday and Tennessee on Wednesday,” 247 Sports’ Dushawn London wrote.
Barnes and his staff understand that with increased NIL funding…
