Former Kentucky forward Andrija Jelavic makes his commitment

Since the opening of the transfer portal, most of the Kentucky Wildcats roster has decided to enter the transfer portal. That includes forward Andrija Jelavic, who came to Lexington from Europe to play college basketball. He showed promise in his first season, but decided not to stick around for year two.

On Friday, Jelavic ended any hope that he would return to Kentucky by announcing his commitment to Ohio State, per Jonathan Givony of Draft Express. He joins Aaron Bradshaw as former Wildcats who joined the Buckeyes through the portal.

In his only season with Kentucky, Jelavic started slow, but began to show off his potential as the season wore on. He would wind up averaging 5.5 points and 4 rebounds per game and started 20 times.

Many fans were hopeful that he would return, but he’s off to a fresh start. They may have gotten a gem. He has a big upside, if they can unlock it. We wish him the best with his new team, and in his career.
