Elliot Cadeau has deal to return to Michigan basketball for 2026-27

Michigan basketball continued a busy day by reaching a deal with point guard Elliot Cadeau to return for his senior season, according to a report from ESPN.

Cadeau, in his first season in Ann Arbor after two campaigns with North Carolina, led the Wolverines to an NCAA Tournament title, winning Final Four Most Outstanding Player by averaging 16 points in the national semifinal and final.

Cadeau proved the naysayers wrong this past season. His main weakness coming out of North Carolina was his 3-point shot; he finished as one of the Wolverines’ top long-range threats, on more than four attempts per game. He was the team’s leading facilitator and the man May frequently referred to as the team’s “brain hub.”

Cadeau became more reliable as the season went on, scoring in double figures in seven of his final nine games while proving he can handle a lead role without much backup once L.J. Cason went down in February.
