FSU basketball to have meeting with transfer target

The Florida State Seminoles have a second chance to recruit Missouri Tigers transfer point guard Anthony Robinson II, and they are making the most of it.

According to Warchant’s Matt LaSerre, FSU is expected to Zoom with him and his family on Wednesday night. He added that they are expected to make a “hard push” to land the Tallahassee native.

Robinson has spent the past three seasons at Missorui, playing in 30 games as a freshman before entering the starting lineup as a sophomore. He averaged 9.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.0 steals as a sophomore, making the 2024-25 SEC All-Defensive Team.

He was expected to take another step as a junior, and he appeared to be doing so in their first 15 games, all of which he started while averaging 11.3 points, 3.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 steals. He did not score in the double digits in the next five games and lost his starting spot, coming off the bench the rest of the season.

Robinson finished the year averaging 8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.6 steals in 27.0 minutes of action in 33 games. The rising senior has played in 96 total games with 50 starts, averaging 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

He is a career 42.7% shooter from the floor, making 31.2% of his 3-pointers and 73.1% of his free throws. While his shooting is not a strength, his defensive capabilities would allow him to fit in well with Luke Loucks’ system.

He is ranked as the No. 75 overall player and No. 20 point guard in the transfer portal by Rivals. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder has one season of eligibility remaining.

FSU isn’t the only ACC school expected to pursue Robinson. Former FSU assistant coach Charlton Young helped bring him to Missouri and is now on Miami’s coaching staff, and the Hurricanes need a point guard to replace Tre Donaldson.
