Alex Karaban’s collegiate career ended with a loss to Michigan in the National Championship Game on Monday night.
Karaban, who spent the last four seasons with UConn, finished the game with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 69-63 loss to Michigan. UConn was down by four at halftime, but wasn’t able to make up the deficit in the second half.

Karaban led all Huskies players in points and hit five three-pointers in this contest.
Despite the loss, Karaban is a legend and will go down as one of the best Huskies ever. He helped the Huskies win back-to-back national titles during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons and also went to three Final Fours and three National Championship Games.
UConn beat Furman, UCLA, Michigan State, Duke, and Illinois to advance to the National Championship Game before its run ended.

After the game ended, the NCAA posted a great message to Karaban, thanking him for everything he did.
Karaban compiled an 18-2 March Madness record during his four appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He also has the most wins in UConn history and the most three-pointers made in UConn history.
He’s a Huskies legend and always will be. He finished the 2025-26 season averaging 13.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. His best individual season came in 2024-25, when he averaged 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

In his career, Karaban averaged 12.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. He also shot 37.5% from beyond the arc.
