For the first time in four years, Iowa basketball ends the season ranked inside the final USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll.
After a magical march to the Elite Eight, Iowa ends the season as the nation’s No. 19 squad in the final Coaches Poll. The Hawkeyes road wins over Clemson, Florida and Nebraska into the Elite Eight. It was Iowa’s first trip to the Elite Eight since 1987.

The Hawkeyes ended Ben McCollum’s first season at the helm with a 24-13 (10-10 Big Ten) record.
In its most recent appearance in the final rankings before this one, Iowa ended the year at No. 21 nationally to conclude the 2021-22 men’s college basketball season.
