Boston College guard Fred Payne enters the transfer portal

On Sunday, Boston College junior guard Fred Payne announced his decision to enter the transfer portal.

Payne was Boston College’s leading scorer in 2025-26, leading the Eagles offense with 15.8 points per game on 40% shooting from the field. He was one of the lone bright spots for a BC offense that finished 339th in the country in points scored. He will have two years of eligibility remaining and is electing to not be a part of Luke Murray’s program in Chestnut Hill.
