Omaha Biliew Enters Transfer Portal

The basketball team now has their 6th loss of the offseason, as junior forward Omaha Biliew has announced his decision to enter the transfer portal

The 6-8 Waukee, Iowa native transferred to Wake in 2024 after 1 season at Iowa State. Despite playing just 7.4 minutes per game for the Cyclones, the Deacs had high hopes for the McDonald’s All-American and #13 overall recruit in the 2023 class. His first season at Wake was marred with injury—Biliew played in just 13 games in the 2024-25 season, averaging 9.5 minutes and 2.8 points per game. We definitely saw some flashes of how much potential Biliew had in that first season, but it was just really hard to evaluate him due to the injuries.

This season, Biliew played in all 35 games for Wake Forest, averaging just 6.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in 20 minutes per game. While he never really met the level of expectations that come with being a McDonald’s All-American, Biliew finished the season shooting 37% from beyond the arc and had the 2nd highest True Shooting Percentage on the team behind Tre’von Spillers. He scored in double figures 9 times and picked up his first career double-double in an 18 point, 10 rebound performance against NC State in December.

For now, Biliew’s decision to hit the portal leaves next year’s roster with just Isaac Carr and Myles Colvin returning—the 2026-27 Wake Forest Basketball Team is going to look almost completely different than this season.

Go Deacs.
