Kansas star Flory Bidunga to explore NBA Draft, enter transfer portal

One of the best players on the Kansas Jayhawks roster is moving on. Where he is moving to is up in the air, at the moment, though.

On Thursday night, it was announced that sophomore Flory Bidunga is expected to declare for the 2026 NBA Draft. However, Bidunga plans to maintain his college eligibility, and should he return to school, he plans to enter the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward has played in Lawrence for two seasons, breaking out this past year with a 13.3 point-per-game average, while adding 9.0 rebounds per game. In the Jayhawks’ biggest game of the year last weekend against St. John’s in the NCAA Tournament, Bidunga had 12 points and five rebounds in the loss.

Bidunga earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors this season and was named to both the All-Big 12 team and conference All-Defensive team. He ranked fifth in the nation with 2.6 blocks per game for the Jayhawks this year.

Over the next few weeks, Bidunga will work to get an evaluation from NBA teams and scouts on where he might land in the draft, and if he doesn’t like the evaluation, a return to college will likely be the next step.
