The former Duke Blue Devil has stayed connected to his alma mater, even being named as a chief basketball officer last October. He says his position allows him to be a resource for the players and coaching staff whenever they need it
So naturally, reporters had to hear his reaction to Duke’s Elite Eight loss to the University of Connecticut in what has become the most viral moment of March Madness.
“I was sick,” Tatum said as quoted by Khari A. Thompson of Boston.com.
“Hate to see us go out like that, but it was still an unbelievable year. We had the toughest schedule, No. 1 overall seed. … So I just kind of felt for all those guys in the locker room. That is an incredible way to lose.”

Incredible is an understatement for the Duke team that led by as much as 19 in the game. The lead was 15 at halftime and, aside from the first and last shots of the game, the Blue Devils never trailed.
The 35-foot three-pointer with less than one second on the clock sent the Huskies to the final weekend of the college basketball season, one win away from a championship berth.
