UConn head basketball coach Dan Hurley will lead his Huskies into a Final Four showdown against Illinois on Saturday, April 4. The fiery Hurley has become nationally known for his animated sideline antics, and his on-court success, of course. Rhode Island basketball fans are well aware of Hurley’s energetic coaching style, and his occasional, mild, never-over-the-top criticism of a referee’s call.
Here’s a look back at classic Dan Hurley when he patrolled the sidelines for the Rhode Island Rams, from 2012-18, before leaving for Storrs, Connecticut, after compiling a 113-82 record in Kingston and leading URI to the NCAA Tournament in both 2017 and 2018.

At Connecticut, Hurley’s Huskies have qualified for the NCAA Tournament for six straight seasons, and have won the national championship twice – so far.
