With the opening of the college basketball transfer portal less than a week away, rumors are flying fast and furious, and the Kentucky Wildcats continue to be linked to various players. A new name on the list is actually an old name to Mark Pope and the Cats.
Tyrone Riley IV was a member of the 2024 recruiting class, and ranked just outside the top 100. He chose to commit to San Francisco, where his father played over offers from The USC Trojans, Florida Gators, and Texas A&M Aggies.

After his freshman season, Riley opted to enter the transfer portal. He had multiple interested teams, including Pope and Kentucky. In the end, however, Riley returned to San Francisco, though he did consider signing with the Wildcats.
Now, per Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio, Kentucky is expected to be in the mix again. Riley averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game this past season, and shot 37% from three-point range. He was named to the All-WCC team as a result.
Riley has room for further growth, and has two years of eligibility remaining. Could he continue that development at Kentucky? We will continue to update things as they play out.
