Walsh basketball’s Quinn Barnett heading to NCAA Division I school

Former Walsh University men’s basketball player Quinn Barnett has found a new home.

Barnett posted on social media on March 29 he has committed to play at Middle Tennessee State. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Middle Tennessee State is an NCAA Division I program that competes in Conference USA. The Blue Raiders finished 17-15 this season. They last played in the NCAA Tournament in 2017.

Barnett announced on March 23 that he was officially in the transfer portal. The 6-foot-4 guard helped lead Walsh to 29 wins, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament titles and a NCAA Division II Sweet 16 berth for the first time this season. He averaged a team-leading 14.8 points a game.

In two seasons with the Cavs, Barnett averaged 12.4 points over 56 games (36 starts).
