Michigan: I’m not jumping in front of this Michigan freight train at the moment. The defense has had some questionable moments during the NCAA Tournament, but the offense has more than made up for them. Now I’m expecting the Wolverines to remind us again why they are viewed as a Top 5 defense by most efficiency metrics.

Tennessee vs Michigan best bet: Michigan -7.5 (-110)

It’s another matchup where the Michigan Wolverines present a style matchup issue that’s hard to see being overcome.

The Tennessee Volunteers have a heavily-reliant rim offense with post-ups stealing the show. The Vols had the highest frequency of direct post-ups in the SEC this season, and have leaned on it more in the NCAA Tournament.

The problem for the Vols is that Michigan’s big lineup ranks in the 85th percentile of college basketball defensively against post-ups.

On the other end, Michigan will score because they score against everyone (fourth nationally). I don’t think Tennessee finds enough offense to compete.
