Jake Wahlin is on the move again.
The Provo native, onetime BYU commit and former Utah Runnin’ Ute intends to transfer from Clemson, he shared Friday on Instagram.
“After a year in Tiger Town, I’ve built many deep and meaningful relationships I’ll forever be thankful for. I’m thankful for the coaching staff and entire community for the opportunity to be a part of an incredible culture,” Wahlin wrote. “To my teammates, thank you for an incredible year. I loved every moment competing alongside my brothers and being apart of a historic season.

“I have decided to enter the transfer portal to explore my options and determine the best path forward for my future.”
Wahlin appeared in 35 games during his lone campaign at Clemson, making 29 starts and posting averages of 5.3 points and 3.9 rebounds. The 6-foot-10 forward scored in double figures six times and helped the Tigers notch 24 victories and reach the NCAA Tournament.
A three-star recruit out of Timpview High, Wahlin initially committed to Mark Pope’s BYU program, but following his Latter-day Saint mission to Lithuania he flipped his commitment to sign with Utah.
In two seasons and 53 games with the Runnin’ Utes, Wahlin averaged 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest. His sophomore season was his most successful to date, scoring 6.3 points per game and shooting 35% from 3-point range.
