Indiana men’s basketball’s first season under Darian DeVries came to an end when the Hoosiers didn’t receive a bid for the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Hoosiers finished 18-14 overall and 9-11 in Big Ten play, with a late collapse ending their March Madness hopes.

Final statline: 13.7 PTS, 5.3 REB, 3.3 AST
Tucker DeVries entered the 2025-26 season as one of just two members of Indiana’s roster with prior experience under Darian DeVries with he and Conor Enright having both been on the 2023-24 Drake roster. He averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 39.7% from the field and 33.3% from 3-point range on the season, with his 3-point shooting percentage being his lowest since his freshman season at Drake in 2021-22.
DeVries was clearly Indiana’s on-court leader given the time he spent in his father’s systems, being communicative and vocal throughout the season. He wasn’t just a 3-point shooter, showing an aptitude for passing that he brought from previous stops.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I think DeVries fits in the Big Ten as a wing moreso than a power forward. He has the passing and ball skills to make things happen from the backcourt and the shooting numbers to space the floor. What really dragged him down was his offensive rebounding percentage, something a more Big Ten capable…
