The Duke Blue Devils are now on to the Sweet 16 after defeating TCU Saturday.
Amidst their NCAA Tournament run, the Blue Devils have made history, cementing themselves as one of the strongest basketball programs in collegiate history. With their two wins, they’ve passed the Kansas Jayhawks for the third-most NCAA Tournament wins.

They now trail only Kentucky and North Carolina, who are both tied with 132.
If Duke were able to make it to the Final Four, they’d break a tie with UCLA for the second-most Final Four appearances in tournament history with 19, trailing the Tar Heels (21) by two. On top of that, an NCAA Championship Game appearance would mark its 12th in program history, placing them in a four-way tie with UCLA, Kentucky and UNC.
Lastly, and most importantly, an NCAA title would mark their sixth in program history, which would tie them for third amongst all schools with UConn and the aforementioned Tar Heels.
With Kentucky, UNC, Kansas and UCLA all eliminated, 2026 will mark a prime opportunity for the Blue Devils to bring themselves closer to their all-time rivals.
