St. Mary’s star forward Paulius Murauskas is entering the transfer portal, he told DraftExpress’ Jonathan Givony. The move comes shortly after longtime St. Mary’s head coach Randy Bennett left to take over the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Murauskas emerged as one of the best players in the West Coast Conference as a junior. The Kaunas, Lithuania native made the First Team All-WCC for the second straight season after averaging 18.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

The 6-foot-8, 235-pounder shot 48.2% from the field, 33.3% from 3-point range, and 84.0% from the free-throw line. He started his career at Arizona before transferring to St. Mary’s ahead of the 2024-25 season, where he immediately became a starter for the Gaels, averaging 12.1 points and 7.7 rebounds for them and being named the WCC Newcomer of the Year.
Murauskas played in 23 games as a freshman at Arizona. He averaged 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds, playing in just 5.1 minutes per game. He made 14 of his 27 3-point attempts before hitting the portal and signing with Bennett at St. Mary’s as an unranked transfer.
After back-to-back successful seasons at St. Mary’s, he will likely be one of the most proven players in the portal with suitors across the country. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
