It was a big day for Cameron Boozer, as Duke’s sensational freshman won both the Oscar Robertson Trophy and the Wayman Tisdale Award.
Both are awarded by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Only five guys have ever done that before, and two of them went to Duke: Zion Williamson did it in 2019, and Cooper Flagg accomplished it last season.

Boozer has had an amazing year, and most intelligent observers recognize the maturity of his game and his astonishing skill set.
Not everyone, though. This guy says Boozer would be the “worst national player of the year ever” apparently because he can’t jump and supposedly can’t deal with big guys inside.
You know who else couldn’t jump? Larry Bird. Bill Walton. Chris Mullin. Charles Oakley. Luka Doncic. Nikola Jokic. The reality is that you spend a minute part of the game in the air.
His hot takes are ludicrously (and hilariously) bad. He also says that Tom Izzo has “nothing on his resume,” that Ian Jackson “can’t get exposure” at St. John’s, and that “Dan Hurley built a system that serves nobody but himself.”

Apparently, he’s right, and all the NBA executives are wrong. Go figure.
