The Cleveland Cavaliers won’t be at full strength for their game against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Jarrett Allen will be missing his seventh-straight contest after injuring his knee in the team’s win over the Detroit Pistons on March 3. The Cavs might also be without the services of Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell was added to the injury report on Thursday afternoon. He’s questionable for the game with a left eye contusion he suffered in the win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. Afterward he said that he couldn’t “really see out of my left eye.”

The lack of vision seemed to effect his play. Mitchell had one of his worst games of the season against the Bucks. He wasn’t able to get anything going offensively, as he went 4-14 from the field. Additionally, he struggled defensively, which led to him having the worst plus/minus on the team with a -15.
Overall, it was just an uncharacteristically bad game from someone who’s having arguably the best season of his career. Mitchell is averaging 28 points and 5.9 assists per game on .479/.364/.854 shooting splits.

It’s worth noting that this would only be Mitchell’s ninth missed game if he isn’t able to go on Thursday. The Cavs are 4-4 this season in games without him. He can miss up to 17 games and still be eligible for postseason awards.
The Cavs will also be without the services of Craig Porter Jr. (groin) and Tyrese Proctor (quad) for Thursday’s game.
The Bulls will be without several players. Isaac Okoro (right patellofemoral), Zach Collins (toe), Noa Essengue (shoulder), Jaden Ivey (left patellofemoral), and Anfernee Simons (left ulnar styloid) will all be unavailable for Chicago. Center Jalen Smith is questionable for Thursday’s contest with a calf injury.
