12 days after losing to West Virginia by 8, BYU’s defense hounded the Mountaineers all evening in a 68-48 win. One day after going for 40, AJ Dybantsa followed that up with a 27 point performance in 39 minutes. Kennard Davis continued his strong play with 20 points on 5-6 shooting from three, and Dominique Diomande and Khadim Mboup gave great energy off the bench. Diomande had three steals for the second consecutive game and Mboup grabbed 7 boards in 15 minutes.
BYU won the turnover battle 22-13 and had 16 offensive rebounds after getting manhandled on the glass in Morgantown. BYU also held the Mountaineers to 38% shooting from the field and 28% from three.

After rough three games before Texas Tech, BYU is playing their best ball post Richie-injury. BYU’s role players like Mboup, Diomande, and Davis are playing their best ball, AJ looks like the #1 pick, and Rob Wright is a dangerous secondary scoring option.
The competition ramps up significantly tomorrow when BYU plays Houston in the quarterfinals. BYU will play its third game in three days while Houston is playing its Big 12 opener. The game tips at 6pm CT on ESPN2.
