While it’s been another disappointing season for the Syracuse men’s basketball program. senior transfer Nate Kingz has shown that he’s more than just a shooter.
Kingz was recognized before Saturday’s final home game, but his path to Syracuse might leave him an opportunity to play another season of college basketball…..and Kingz would be interested in staying.
The audio might be hard to hear, but Kingz shared that his agent and Syracuse GM Alex Kline have helped him prepare a waiver to the NCAA. Kingz played one season of JUCO ball, so it would make sense that his appeal would be based on previous cases which allowed athletes to not have those seasons counted against their NCAA allotted four seasons of competition.

In ACC play this season, Kingz averaged 12.8 points on 50.6% shooting- 40.2% from 3. He often drew the toughest perimeter assignment. No matter what happens in the next month, I think Kingz would be a solid veteran piece for the 26-27 Syracuse team. In an era where player loyalty is seen as a thing of the past, it’s good that the on-court disappointment hasn’t soured Kingz on the idea of running it back in the Dome.
Would you like to see Kingz back in the Cuse next season?
