Kentucky Basketball allowed one of the most lopsided runs ever seen vs. Texas A&M

Kentucky Basketball kicked off tonight’s game in College Station right where they left off against Vanderbilt on Saturday. The offense was clicking, and the defense looked locked in once again. However, after a 12-point lead was built, the Cats imploded, as they dropped a very winnable game to the Aggies.

How bad was it? Well, the Cats allowed one of the lopsided runs you will likely ever see. Ending the first half and about seven minutes into the second half, the Aggies were on a 41-10 run.

Forty-one to ten.

That turned the game into a beatdown through the final 30 minutes of gametime.

While there’s been no confirmation of this, it’s hard to imagine that it wasn’t one of the most lopsided runs a UK team has ever fallen victim to. Even the worst parts of the Billy Gillespie years or the 9-16 team weren’t ‘that’ bad.

This game once again kept the pattern going. Under Mark Pope, Kentucky wins these great games, and then they get absolutely destroyed in others. With the postseason starting next week, that is a disturbing pattern for the BBN heading into March.

At this point, it wouldn’t be shocking for the Cats to knock off the Gators on Saturday. Will the pattern continue?

Let’s hope they just start playing good basketball each time out.
