Open Thread: Victor Wembanyama and Jeremy Sochan reunite before Sunday’s game

This was a nice moment captured before the Knicks hosted the Spurs at Madison Square Garden.

Victor Wembanyama stepped over to Jeremy Sochan during the pregame shoot around. They shared in a warm embrace before Devin Vassell joined in.

After the game, Kelly Olynyk and Sochan shared a moment as the teams were parting ways. All around, it appears the Spurs truly wish Sochan well.

Wemby and the Spurs were coming off an impressive 11-0 record in February before the Knicks snapped their streak. In addition to the group accolade, Victor continues to rack up personal bests.

But it is not just Victor. As we’ve learned, the Spurs are excelling as a group. This stat of winning percentages with and without a team’s star player illuminated the Spurs accelerated progress.

Despite a rough go in Madison Square Garden, one of the most notorious arenas in which to play, the Spurs are still the second seed in the Western Conference.
