Kentucky Basketball will welcome back Kam Mercer for a second visit later this month, according to Jacob Polacheck with KSR+. Mercer is the No. 2 shooting guard and a top-20 overall player in the class of 2028, according to 247Sports.
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, is expected to attend the Wildcats’ matchup with Vanderbilt on Saturday, February 28.

Mercer previously made an unofficial trip to Lexington in the fall, where he was left impressed by the early support surrounding head coach Mark Pope.
Since then, Mercer has continued to draw major attention nationally. He took unofficial visits to Ohio State and Louisville in January and has also been on campus at Xavier. His growing offer list includes Ohio State, Louisville, Xavier, Missouri, Cincinnati, Florida State, and several others across high-major basketball.
Mercer believes his skill set aligns naturally with Kentucky’s style under Pope.
“I see myself fitting into Kentucky’s system because I love to play fast and space the floor,” Mercer tells KSR. “I can defend multiple positions and play multiple spots, which works perfectly in a high-tempo system.”

As Mercer prepares for his second stop in Lexington, Kentucky, he aims to position himself early with one of the headliners of the 2028 class and a potential foundational piece for the program’s future.
