All season, the freshman talk has centered on Darryn Peterson and AJ Dybantsa.

Peterson’s big shots at Kansas. Even how much time Peterson has missed. Dybantsa scoring 30 a night against ranked teams at BYU. The Cougars star and how athletic he is.

Meanwhile, Cameron Boozer just keeps dominating.

On Tuesday night, he made that impossible to ignore.

24 points in 24 minutes

No. 1 Duke Blue Devils crushed Notre Dame Fighting Irish 100-56 in South Bend. Boozer had 24 points and 13 rebounds in only 24 minutes. He shot 10 of 12 from the floor. By halftime, he already had 20 and nine.

It wasn’t flashy. It was just overwhelming.

He scored inside. He hit jumpers. He cleaned the glass. Notre Dame had no answer.

The production is there

Boozer is averaging 22.7 points and 10.1 rebounds on nearly 60 percent shooting. He’s also over 40 percent from three and gives Duke four assists per game.

That’s not hype. That’s steady, every-night production.

Duke is 26-2 and leading the ACC. Boozer is their best player. Simple as that.

The conversation needs to change

Peterson and Dybantsa are special. No question.

But Boozer might be the most complete freshman in the country right now.

He scores efficiently. He rebounds in traffic. He passes out of double teams. He doesn’t force anything. He just controls the game.

Duke is playing like a national title team, and Boozer is the biggest reason why.

If he’s still being overlooked, it won’t be for long.

Wrapping up the regular season

Boozer and the Blue Devils have goals to run through the ACC Tournament and then play six NCAA Tournament games. The program got five games in a season ago, falling short in the final four.

The Blue Devils play a big one Saturday at home against Virginia….
