Indiana women’s basketball bounces back, beats Oregon 72-65

Indiana women’s basketball has found ways to win as the season has drawn to a close, picking up its latest victory with a 72-65 performance against Oregon on Sunday at Assembly Hall.

The Hoosiers returned to Bloomington looking to rebound after going 0-2 in Los Angeles after stringing together three wins against Northwestern, Wisconsin and Purdue. Oregon, a group whose season has seen its share of ups and downs, provided an ample opportunity.

Shay Ciezki once again led Indiana in scoring, finishing with 20 points on a less than ideal 6-15 clip from the field, including 3-8 from 3-point range. Some of those misses weren’t for nothing as she drew contact and shot 5-6 from the free throw line. What really lifted the Hoosiers was Edessa Noyan’s 18 points. The Ducks had no answers for her as she shot 7-11 from the field while pulling down eight rebounds.

It was also one of Indiana’s better games from 3-point range as the Hoosiers finished 7-16 on their attempts from beyond the arc, led bv Ciezki in attempts and makes.

Indiana returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to New Jersey to take on Rutgers.
