WEST LAFAYETTE — Indiana got run out of Mackey Arena on Friday night, losing 93-64 to No. 7 Purdue.
Tucker DeVries scored 11 points on six shots, pacing IU early, and Lamar Wilkerson came on late for 20 points.

Here’s what I liked and disliked, and what the Hoosiers’ defeat means.
What I liked in IU basketball’s loss at Purdue
Tucker DeVries’ early offense. It kept Indiana (17-10, 8-8 Big Ten) afloat, eight of the Hoosiers’ first 14 points coming straight from their fifth-year senior. That wasn’t without demand elsewhere either — DeVries spent time battling against Trey Kaufman-Renn in the post defensively, and he mixed it up on the glass at the offensive end too. There wasn’t much to like in IU’s first 12 or so minutes Friday night, but it would’ve looked a lot worse without Tucker DeVries.
Tournament hopes remain intact. It’s not really a like from the night, because there was precious little to like about Indiana’s performance Friday. But Indiana could afford this loss, so long as its weight does not carry over. Win the next three at home, and the postseason resume won’t much concern itself what Friday night’s calamity. It’s elsewhere the Hoosiers need to focus their effort now.

IU answered with some of its own, just to ensure it rode out the frenetic opening minutes of a game that will always start with furor. But Darian DeVries could hardly have liked the overall execution offensively in the opening minutes.
Foul trouble. Indiana will have complained about the way the game was called in the…
