Minnesota leads Oregon 22-17 at halftime of a Big Ten basketball game

and I, for one, blame Rutgers.

The first half ended with an abortive run-out by the Ducks concluded with a missed layup, and the Gophers turning that into a half-court possession in the final ten seconds in which some Gopher—and I promise you, I am not going to learn which one it was—put a baseline hook shot off the side of the backboard.

The first half ends: Minnesota, 22; Oregon, 17.

This is a game of Big Ten basketball.

Sacramento State plays in the MAC. North Dakota State Clown College, Cows Inseminated Also now plays in the Mountain West. Oregon is in the Big Ten.

I, personally, blame Rutgers.

Now, I can hear you saying: “Oh SUUUUUURE, MNWildcat; blame Rutgers, when it was really the greed of the Big Ten and Jim Delany that led Rutgers to accept an offer they could really never refuse! Blame the team that’s brought the Big Ten athletic competence Ivy League academics elite posters like ZuzuRU and RU in VA! What about Big Ten-on-Big Ten crime I BET YOU DIDN’T THINK OF THAT, LIB.”

Perhaps you’re right. Perhaps I’ve failed to adequately assess the potential of a Big Ten game on pace to end 44-34 in favor of a team that I’m pretty sure only plays a four-man starting rotation in the sport of basketball.

Or, just maybe, it’s your fault. YOU, the consumer.
