ESPN predicts the winner of Alabama vs Arkansas basketball

Only three weeks remain on the regular-season SEC basketball schedule for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama (18-7 overall, 8-4 conference), which is ranked No. 25 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll, is coming off an 89-75 win over South Carolina at Coleman Coliseum on Saturday. Aden Holloway scored 20 points for the Crimson Tide. Labaron Philon and Latrell Wrightsell Jr. both added 19.

The Crimson Tide have won four straight games after opening the month with a 100-77 loss to the Florida Gators in Gainesville. Nate Oats’ team currently sits No. 21 in the NET rankings and No. 18 in the latest KenPom ratings. Recent NCAA Tournament projections have Alabama anywhere from a No. 5-7 seed in March Madness.

Arkansas (19-6, 9-3) is coming off an 88-75 win over Auburn last Saturday. Coach John Calipari’s Razorbacks have won three straight games and is ranked No. 17 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. Darius Acuff Jr. led Arkansas by tying a career-high 31 points, and Billy Richmond III scored a career-high 25 in the Hogs’ win over Auburn.

The Crimson Tide are 17th nationally in ESPN’s BPI ratings. Alabama has a 17.8 overall rating. The metrics give the Tide an 11.8 rating on offense, which is No. 5 nationally, and a 6.1 rating on defense that rates 42nd.

Arkansas is only four spots far behind Alabama in ESPN’s BPI. The Razorbacks are 21st nationally with a 17.0 overall rating. The metrics give Arkansas a 10.4 rating on offense that’s No. 14 nationally, as well as a 6.5 rating on defense that rates 36th.
